The Certified Nutritionist is a vital member of the Oasis Eating Disorders Recovery team. This team member is responsible for serving our patients by providing an individualized and caring approach to nutrition for those in recovery.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops individualized care plans including a meal plan, supplement recommendations, minimum weight goal range if weight restoration is necessary, recovery skills & topics, education topics, initial goals and long term goals based on assessment findings and patient goals, seeking out resources when appropriate
Evaluates patient's progress towards nutrition goals, and determines the need to alter goals and interventions
Revises goals based on patient's progress towards established goals and in response to interventions, change in condition, and other relevant factors to improve patient outcome.
Conducts bi- weekly nutrition follow up sessions in which prior goals are reviewed, troubleshooting is offered, and new goals are set as indicated
Joins family sessions as needed to provide education and discuss supporting the client.
Evaluates patient/family response to nutrition care and education in relation to intended goals
Facilitates 3-5 nutrition, body image, or mindful movement/guided meditation groups per week
Supervises and provides support during meals and snack
Provides milieu support, which may include bathroom supervision as needed
Participates in developing, reviewing, and updating educational materials and groups offered
Reviews, logs and tracks meal journal, ED bxs, and weight reports to be shared in daily huddle meetings with treatment team
Plans weekly program menus for patients, and coordinates catering purchases with Clinical Director
Manages schedule and caseload, such that both clinical and administrative responsibilities are met
Participates in weekly treatment team meetings
Participates in weekly supervision with Clinical Director and NP
Collaborates with co-workers and other members of healthcare team to effectively promote positive patient outcomes
Provides in-services, orientation, presentations as appropriate.
Maintains detailed and timely documentation using KIPU EMR
Maintains ethical practices established by the APA and AND
Practices continued professional development by attending professional educational opportunities as appropriate, reviewing journals and literature, incorporating new information & best practices into the work environment
Consistently complies with Oasis/Sierra Meadows Behavioral Health policies and procedures.
Manages own timesheets on time and accurately.
Completes and maintains all regulatory requirements including licensing and certification, and other mandatory training within established time frames. Submits documentation as appropriate.

Requirements
COMPETENCIES
Certified Nutrition Specialist
Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition Science or other related field
2+ years experience as a Nutritionist
Eating Disorders experience strongly preferred
Familiar with family based therapy, Maudsley Method, Intuitive Eating, PlateByPlate approach, and Health at Every Size (HAES)
Attention to detail
Ability to relate and get along with other co-workers

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Obtain a health clearance form from a medical provider
Obtain a negative tuberculosis screening
Valid Driver's License
Ability to lift/carry 20 pounds
