It's an exciting time to join the Nutrition Services Division (NSD)! If you're passionate about child nutrition and training, join our team as we make history by supporting schools statewide to implement California's Universal Meal Program. We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, flexible, and committed nutrition education professional to join the Education and Nutrition Policy Unit-School Nutrition Programs (ENPU-SNP).

As a member of the ENPU-SNP, and under the direction of the Nutrition Education Administrator, the Nutrition Education Consultant (NEC) is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and promotion of nutrition and food service education as an integrated component of a coordinated school health system in public and private schools, kindergarten through grade twelve (K-12). The focus of this incumbent is to lead and coordinate the division's learning management system and cross-division training plans and associated tools, resources, and communications in support of California's Universal Meals program.

This position serves as the Learning Management System (LMS) lead consultant for Nutrition Services Division, providing subject matter expertise on training strategies, theories of adult learning, and online nutrition education training development for the division. This position will also develop, implement and evaluate a communications plan that showcases the school food services experience and excellence and highlights the resources and accomplishments of the Division.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in the Sacramento area. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office. This position requires up to 15 percent travel.
