Providence is calling a Food and Nutrition Assistant II (Food And Nutrition, Variable Shift, 1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

  • $1,000 Sign-On Bonus*

In this position you will:

  • Prepare, portion, and deliver foods according to production and customer needs, adhering to regulatory guidelines

  • Wash, Rinse and Sanitize equipment and work areas as assigned following proper procedures

  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and stay organized

  • Multi-task and complete necessary projects within an allotted time frame.

  • Operate food service equipment safely and within OSHA guidelines

  • Follow correct delivery procedure for delivering trays within the Food and Nutrition Room Service program. Safeguard and maintain confidentiality of all patient, medical staff, employee and other information

  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members. Provide high quality customer service

  • Perform all duties in a manner which promote team concept and reflects the Sisters of Providence mission and philosophy

  • Complete initial and annual Competency Plan for assigned job and department

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Obtain Municipality Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Specific vocational training. This training can be provided in a school, work, military, institutional or vocational environment
  • 6 months training or on the job training in quantity food preparation and basic principles of sanitation and safety in food handling
