Requirements / Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum of High School diploma or G.E.D. with at least 2-3 years of experience equivalent training and experience to sufficiently demonstrate the knowledge and perform the abilities listed in job description.

• Knowledge and training of school meal patterns required.

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures to adequately complete necessary paperwork.

• Experience in food service or customer service Must possess: A valid Food Safety or Food Protection Manager Certification accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) maintained throughout employment with the LEA. Examples of accredited food protection manager certifications include:

• ServSafe Food Protection Manager;

• State Food Safety Manager (FSM); * Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP); * Certified Professional - Food Safety (CP-FS); * Food Protection Manager (FPM)

Competency test will be administered to qualified applicants. Must upload required attachments named exactly as stated (i.e., Letter of Recommendation) or you will not be considered for this position.

The Nutrition Assistant II will prepare, cook or bake a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, meats, vegetables, sauces and other foods in quantity; assist in the overall operation and maintenance of the kitchen and cafeteria; may operate a Snack Bar, "Combo-Line", or satellite kitchen; and to do related work as may be required.
