A nursing technician on the Progressive Care unit acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Performs basic skills per hospital/unit guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. This position will also be cross trained and scheduled to work in the Cardiac Monitoring Center, as a Cardiac Monitoring Technician at Blodgett.
A Cardiac Monitor Technician in the Cardiac Monitoring Center at Blodgett Hospital monitors and interprets patient heart rhythms remotely using telemetry monitoring equipment. Notifies Registered Nurse (RN) of any abnormalities or variances in patient heart rhythm to initiate an examination of patient. Documents and posts information on patient records. Answers calls for inquiries concerning patients from medical staff and the patient care team
Progressive Care Med/Surg (1G
Population: Complex Medical with cardiac drips and Bipap, peritoneal dialysis
Orientation: Orientation is mandatory and done full time during the day Monday through Friday and the following Monday and Tuesday.
Why 1G: 1G has a wide variety of patients, ages, and diagnoses providing a new learning opportunity every day. We take patents on cardiac drips and also do specialized respiratory interventions.
This is a full time day position with the expectation of working 72 hours every two weeks. This position utilizes core scheduling. An employee will be hired into a permanent schedule that repeats every 6 weeks. The days and hours are already preset and cannot be permanently changed to accommodate a personal or school schedule. This schedule will not have the ability to drop below 72 hours per pay period. However, there is opportunity to trade shifts with other employees or take PTO when a day off is needed
Successful completion of Nursing Technician orientation.
