Shift: Full-Time (1.0 FTE) / Evening Shift 3p-11p
Performs activities which support the daily functions and operations of a patient care unit and the healthcare team. In a "sitter" capacity provides constant observation and documentation of activity of assigned patient(s). Works under the direction of the Registered Nurse in the assigned area.
Nursing Support Assistant (NSA) Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
CNA experience in Pediatrics highly preferred
Experience as nursing assistant in a hospital required
Ability to read and write, perform simple mathematical calculations, follow oral and written instructions, perform variety of tasks without direct supervision and perform duties requiring continuous physical effort
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and/or in written form
Customer service orientation and values
Ability to work in partnership with management and staff
Moderate to extreme physical effort such as walking, standing, performing CPR, and lifting materials, equipment, objects and/or patients may be required
Occasional lifting may be heavy and awkward, over 50 lbs.
Vision, hearing, and sense of touch must be adequate to enable one to quickly and accurately perform tasks such as reading small print, defining details, sending and receiving clear and accurate oral communication
Frequent periods of concentrated or focused attention will be needed to interpret visual, auditory, and sensory inputs
Alertness and careful attention to detail is required to avoid injury
