Nursing Station Technicians- Support the work of the RN to provide exceptional care to our patients and families. The NST floats to all areas of the pediatric hospital including critical care, transplant, oncology, and cardiology. The pediatric float pool NST also functions in the role of a "flyer" and performs the EKGs ordered on the west bank along with holter monitor placement and responds to the needs of individual units.
This position works 48 hours in a 2 week period on the rotating evening/night shift, working 8 hour shifts and every other weekend. This position is benefit eligible.
The Nursing Station Technician is a hybrid position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties.
In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. Other job duties include:
Patient care such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding
Maintaining unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests
Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
Ordering and stocking of supplies
Active status on the MN Nursing Assistant Registry
Basic Life Support (BLS)
