Job Title: Nursing Scheduler
Reports To: Director of Nursing
Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Nursing, SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility) Nursing Scheduler generates, manages, and updates the master schedule for SNF nursing department to ensure required nursing department staffing are met daily. Nursing Schedule will process and address staff call-offs, and time off requests to mitigate staffing vacancies under the leadership of Director of Nursing and or Administrator.
Job Responsibilities:
Create and post monthly staffing schedules, track and post changes and approve trades in the absence of the DON or as delegated by DON.
Maintain timely records of call-offs, tardy, and early arrivals and coordinate with nursing leadership to ensure attendance policies are administered promptly and fairly.
Provide accurate and timely reports to the DON, Administrator and management on issues related to staffing, vacancies, and agency use, or other topics as assigned.
Provides Unit Manager and Director of Nursing with up-to-date list of staff off from FMLA, Light Duty, Dr.s' Notes, Maternity Leave, unpaid absence, or requested time off, etc.
Maintains open and current communication of shift needs with nursing staff, and agency staffing. Communicates vacancies to DON and Human Resource/Recruiting frequently.
Communicates with the Unit Managers and Director of Nursing regarding the scheduling of new employees for general, and on-unit, orientation, coordinates all required computer authorizations, name badge and keys with HR Specialist, as appropriate.
Monitors Perdiem staff compliance with Per Diem Policy, documents scheduling attempts with these staff, provides monthly per diem report to the Director of Nursing.
Maintains Unit Float and Mandation lists, verifies Incentive shift payments with the Unit Managers.
Maintains attendance records and reports call-ins or tardiness to the Unit Managers for tracking and disciplinary follow up.
Provides staffing schedule handoff to Nursing Supervisor at end of shift for monitoring and follow up.
Maintains and posts daily nursing staffing per CMS and NYS DOH regulations.
All other related projects, duties, and requests as assigned.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma, GED
Experience: 2 years of office, or nursing home, experience preferred
Licensure: Not required
