MAJOR FUNCTION: Provide operational support to the Department of Nursing. Principal point of contact for prospective and current student inquiries.
Nursing Program Administration:
Demonstrates and encourages professional standards, organizational values, and ethical conduct consistent with the mission of Le Moyne College.
Supports and promotes department goals.
Serves as a conduit, managing communications throughout the department.
Coordinate activities associated with the management of the undergraduate and graduate Nursing programs.
Nursing Department event planning and execution
Maintains relationships with all key stakeholders at the College to conduct business on behalf of the Nursing Department.
Serves as liaison between preceptor agencies, faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
Maintains and nurtures sound working relationships in order to share information and knowledge with team members.
Access to Nursing budgets with authority to sign off on operating expenditures up to $500
Support staff, faculty and adjunct needs.
Attend program and department meetings as directed and maintains official records.
Assist with on-going program contracts, files, and database.
Sort, screen, and distribute mail; compose and ensure timely responses to a variety of written requests, prepare documents, and compose routine correspondence as required.
Assists with the updating of policies and procedures.
Routine maintenance of departmental website.
Point of contact for support of new employees.
Supervises student workers.
Supports college committees.
Provide first point of contact for prospective graduate and adult students, parents and the public to provide programmatic information and make referrals to appropriate College personnel.
Capture data on all prospects for recruitment. Support advisement and transcript analysis for prospects.
Represent College at various functions specific to the Department of Nursing and at recruitment events off campus as requested.
Use of both Slate and Onbase for required enrollment and academic data on prospects and students.
Use of Datatel to report student grades and GPAs, and register (add/drop) students in courses
Registration, withdrawals etc. for some student populations.
Point of contact for all nursing students for problem resolution, involving faculty and administration as appropriate.
Interface with most college offices on a day-to-day basis to resolve student problems including but not limited to the Bursar, Registrar, Financial Aid, Advisement, Academic Departments, etc.
Administration of nursing student scholarships.
All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: An Associate degree is required or equivalent education and experience. Bachelors degree preferred.
Must have a high degree of organizational skills, motivation, self-direction, and capacity to work autonomously as well as a member of a team.
Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
Logical decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Advanced computer skills and aptitude for learning new software as needed.
Strict attention to detail, with information follow-up and follow-through.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
People and customer service orientation with ability to work with diverse populations.
Ability to multitask consistently and effectively.
High degree of integrity to handle confidential information on a daily basis.
Health care credentials or work in a health care setting preferred.
