Description:
Trinity Health Of New England is looking for an EXPERIENCE Behavioral Health Registered Nurse and Nurse Educator to join our team of mission-driven healthcare innovators within the Behavioral Health Department at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital. The Nursing Professional Development Specialist (NPDS) designs, organizes, implements, and evaluates educational programs (orientations, continuing education, and in-services) that facilitate the professional growth, skill development, competency, and attainment of standards of care for direct care nurses within the organization and across all systems of the organization.
The ideal candidate will display a drive to provide patient-centered experiences through scholarly scientific inquiry, compassion for the human spirit and mind, advocacy and education for the patient and families, and collaboration with all those who touch our patients. This critical role supports the professional development of the bedside caregiver and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidence-based nursing practice. The NPDS collaborates with nursing leadership to identify and meet the global needs of patient care units, multi-disciplinary teams, committees, and task forces.

You Will Be Responsible For:
Exceptional Patient Care: Contributes to the overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively.
Excellent Communicator: Communicates effectively (written and verbal) with colleagues, patients, and family members.
Strong Educator: Educate patients and family members to have a transparent understanding of the provided care.
Technical Familiarity: Understanding computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
Active Teamwork: Demonstrates problem-solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.
Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required. Master's Degree in Nursing preferred, or must be WITHIN 6 MONTHs of completing Master's Program from hire date.
Registered Nurse Licensure (RN): Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in Connecticut.
Experience: 3-5 years of Behavioral Health and Acute Care nursing experience. Nurse Educator in-field experience is preferred.
BLS or CPR certification: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross will be accepted.
Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks
