Nursing Midwife

Position Summary:

Provides care to women throughout their lifespan. The CNM will work in both inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN settings to provide a full-scope of Midwifery care including well women exams, family planning services, low-risk obstetrical care, labor and delivery management, and postpartum care for mommy and baby.The CNM will work closely with an interdisciplinary team at UT, including Nurses, Physicians, and Resident Colleagues.

Position Qualification:

CNM with four years experience.

Ability to perform physical exams and assessments, give injections, phlebotomy, perform certain lab tests, staple removal, and wound care.

Effective communication skills when counseling patients and giving instructions regarding procedures, health care, and medications. Must perform under protocols and have the direct supervision of an M.D.

Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee.

Certification as a Nurse Midwife through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
