Fredericksburg Endoscopy Center (FBEC), a NEW endoscopy Ambulatory Service Center / ASC under development in Fredericksburg, VA, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse Manager / Director of Nursing!

Aside from responsibilities listed below, this person will be integral in assisting with the development and start-up process of a new ASC. You will be hired prior to opening and will assist in getting the center ready for launch and hiring and building out your own team. You will report to the ASC Administrator.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily clinical staffing and flow of patients through the endoscopy experience

  • Recruiting, hiring, and evaluating clinical personnel

  • Supervision of staff including RNs and endoscopy techs

  • Provides administrative support to staff to ensure efficient work flow, adequate staffing levels, resolution of difficult problems, monitoring of quality assurance measures, and enforcement of departmental and surgery centers policies

  • Assuring compliance to all clinical policies and procedures by the Physicians and staff

  • Preparation and management of paperwork and studies necessary for continued certification and accreditation

  • Monitoring clinical purchases, and participate in annual budget meetings

  • Monitoring all procedure area purchases

  • Focus on quality of care and patient satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • BS or equivalent college degree

  • Current RN License

  • 2 years prior experience in a management role

  • Supervisory experience, with fiscal responsibility in a for-profit healthcare setting preferred, including infection prevention and control services.

  • ACLS certified, with experience in GI diagnostic procedures.

  • Familiarity with state, Medicare and accreditation requirements (JCAHO/AAAHC preferred).

  • Proficient in computer programs including Excel and Word, and prior experience with billing systems/software.

  • A working knowledge of Medical terminology, CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, patient registration, charge entry functions or other billing related experience is preferred.

  • Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills.

  • This important position requires a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.

Job Summary: The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for establishing and managing client relationships to include the oversight and management of the initial sales process (intake and home visit), client relationship building, and ongoing contact management / customer service support of clients. The Director of Nursing (DON) facilitates the provision of in-home care and support services to clients, arranges for the uninterrupted continuing care of the client, and assist in the organization of family resources for the effective care of the client. The Director of Nursing (DON) interacts with the other office personnel as well as clients, family members, community providers / referral sources, insurance companies, and care managers. Typical tasks for this position include, but are not limited to: taking accurate referral / service request information from potential clients by phone; Selling prospective clients on services and scheduling in-home visits; Coordinating with scheduling coordinators to ensure initial client schedule is accurate and correct; Introducing caregivers to clients; Serving as a liaison between the client, the caregiver and the scheduler; Contacting clients and caregivers for follow-up on service delivery and satisfaction; Assesses and acts to resolves client concerns; Ensures all required information for regulatory / compliance purposes is documented in the appropriate information systems. Job Requirements: * College diploma in Nursing and unencumbered RN license. * Minimum of one to three years of experience in a like position. * Strong experience in sales with a proven track record of success. * Demonstrated leadership skills and outstanding people management skills. * Exceptional customer service skills and written / verbal communication. * Willingness to spend extended periods of time in the field with driving as a requirement. * A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license with the ability to pass a background check (including motor vehicle records check). Working Environment / Physical Demands: * Office environment, client home, and facilities. * Walking, sitting, and standing with lifting limited to files and records typically not expected to exceed 5 pounds in weight. * Extended time at a computer work screen and on the telephone. * Extended time in motor vehicle.
