Summary The Nursing Manager

####Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry

. Participates in nursing and organizational policy formation and decision-making. Maintains records, reports, and collects statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes. Assumes accountability for all services/care provided in the department. Consistently delivers on commitments. Takes a strategic approach to identifying problems and opportunities and setting priorities. Aligns people with the organization#s strategic and operational objectives. Oversees the supervision, scheduling, orientation, counseling, and evaluation of staff. Adopts new approaches when circumstances demand it. Clarifies service requirements and expectations. Identifies emerging needs and proactively acts to address them. Determines staffing needs, work methods, and performance standards to ensure adequate and appropriate coverage to meet operational needs. Cultivates a positive work environment, monitors the performance of all team members, and conducts annual Performance Reviews and Career Interviews on time. Performs in a clinical role for patient care as needed. Fosters and develops excellence in nursing practice acting as a role model for team members and patient advocate. Takes measures to ensure that quality indicators are within the benchmark. Responsible for creating a culture of safety and accountable for ensuring that patient safety measures are adhered to according to policy, procedure, and standards of care. Participates and/or chairs inter/intradepartmental committees and task forces to assist in the achievement of department and/or system goals and objectives. Other duties as consistent with this role. Job Knowledge and Skills Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training is preferred at hire or obtained before completion of orientation. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Education and Experience Bachelor#s degree in nursing from an accredited school required. Current Maine RN license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Minimum of 5 years of Behavioral Health Clinical experience required.
