What will you do in this role:
Make frequent house rounds on all shifts to assess performance of nursing staff and to monitor the quality of care provided
In compliance with the Company's policies, is responsible for interviewing, hiring, developing, supervising and following the Company's performance management policy with assigned staff
Participate in internal audits of nursing practice
Establish and ensure that staffing levels and scheduling patterns are adequate and have appropriate coverage at Community
Assure development, maintenance, implementation and evaluation of the safety and infection control programs
Investigate and document incidents, identifies safety hazards and institutes corrective actions in a timely manner
Investigate and ensure completion of internal and state required incident reports for assisted living communities including completion of appropriate interventions in a timely manner
Provide clinical expertise to facilitate and support the nursing process in resident interventions and care provided
Support Executive Director in planning and scheduling of staff training programs for Assisted Living and Memory Care staff
Share on-call responsibilities and expectations for entire Assisted Living and Memory Care neighborhoods
Assist in pre-admission assessments of potential residents. Assists in orienting new residents to the physical environment and community culture
Responsible for making sure that all required medical records are kept up to date in PCC
Ability to grow the skillsets of individual and collective team abilities
Communicate with residents and family members as needed to provide exceptional care and service
You have:
Valid and current LPN state license required
One-year experience as a supervisor in a health care facility
Highly developed nursing skills; thorough knowledge in understanding and interpreting nursing philosophies, programs, and policies
Demonstrated commitment to high professional and ethical standards
Must have computer processing and electronic medical database experience such as LTC or Point Click Care
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
Ability to think critically
You might also have:
Valid and current RN state license preferred
Three years of experience in Senior Care or an Assisted Living setting
One year of experience as a supervisor in a health care facility
Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people, particularly the elderly and their family members
Recognize current evolution of this role to include an 'Operations' emphasis
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. unassisted
Ability to push/pull 60 lbs. of resistance
Ability to stand and/or walk for duration of shift
Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
May be exposed to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens
