The primary responsibility is teaching in the areas of Medical-Surgical, Pediatrics, and/or Obstetrics. Faculty loads are normally scheduled on an average load of fifteen (15) credit hours per semester.

Office hours, advising and collateral duty assignments, such as college and department meetings are maintained. Teaching schedules may include day, evening and weekend classes and multiple campus and off-campus clinical assignments. Opportunities for summer teaching will be based on student interest.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited college or university and an unrestricted Registered Nurse's license are required. Minimum of two (2) years of full-time nursing experience or its equivalent within the past five (5) years or two (2) years of full-time teaching in nursing education or its equivalent (30 credits is equal to 1 year). The selected candidate must be able to successfully pass the college's pre-employment security screening.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum two (2) years of recent teaching experience in a nursing program. Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in both didactic and clinical settings, including course development, student assessment, course evaluations and advising.

Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology routinely into instructional responsibilities (multimedia, flipped classroom teaching strategies, and test construction). Demonstrated understanding of concept-based teaching principles. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations.
