College of The Albemarle welcomes applications from individuals interested in an adjunct (part-time) Nursing Faculty positions. Part-time and/or substitute instructor appointments are made on a semester-by-semester and/or as needed basis. Positions are not benefit eligible. The candidate should have the ability to accommodate a flexible working schedule and limited travel within the service area. The role of Part-Time Nursing Faculty is to provide knowledge in his/her field of expertise and to promote various student-centered learning activities that will stimulate an interest in critical thinking and a desire for life-long learning. Various teaching strategies, learning styles, and delivery methods, including new technology systems, will be utilized to reach this goal.

Instructor, Nursing (Clinical)
Nurse Aide I & II
Present material and instruct class, lab and clinical in a manner that aligns with North Carolina Nurse Aide curriculum.
Contribute to the development and revision of classroom materials.
Maintain accurate and orderly student records.
Adhere to/enforces policies and procedures related to academic area and the college.
Stay abreast and comply with affiliated health agency policy.
Maintain a hazard free environment and practices safety in lab(s) or classroom.
Perform other duties as assigned.
ADN/PN/Clinical
Prepare, teach, and evaluate assigned instructional courses (classroom, lab, clinical).
Develop supplemental teaching materials to augment courses.
Create, maintain and update course information as well as grades in MyCourses.
Implement new teaching strategies as appropriate.
Evaluate textbooks for relevancy, quality, and currency, making recommendations as necessary as per established policy.
Maintain accurate records of students' attendance and performance.
Submit reports in accurate and timely manner.
Adhere to assigned teaching load/hours.
Integrate new technology in instructional delivery methods.
Adhere to/enforces policies and procedures related to academic area.
Maintain a hazard free environment and practices safety in lab(s) or classroom.
Keep students advised of their progress in class and when needed, refer students to the Academic Support Center for assistance.
Stay abreast of new developments and changes in academic field.
Adhere to college's policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Unencumbered NC State License as a Registered Nurse
Unencumbered NC State License as a Registered Nurse
Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS
Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS
Two years of work experience as an RN (4000 hours)
Two years of work experience as an RN (4000 hours)
Completion of a course in teaching adults
OR
Experience in teaching adults
OR
Experience in supervising nurse aides
Preferred:
Master of Science in Nursing
Bachelor of Science in Nursing*
