Nursing Extern-Pd

Overview

Nurse Externship: This program takes place 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:00am-3:30pm) from June 3rd to August 9th. This program allows nurse externs to be trained as a nursing assistant, and shadow registered nurses in various specialty areas within the hospital. As a nurse extern, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our healthcare team and assist in rendering care to our patients.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Completes orientation & training for the role of a nursing assistant

• Performs the duties of a nursing assistant while shadowing RNs daily patient care assignment.

• Observes all aspects of care and seeks out additional learning opportunities.

• Interacts with members of the healthcare team, observing intercollegiate relationships, plans of care, treatment plans & discharge plans are implemented.

• Participates in the daily routine of each unit.

• Completes tasks as assigned

• Maintains professional appearance and conduct at all times.

• Works as a per diem nursing assistant when not assigned to nurse extern shifts.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled as a nursing student in an accredited BSN nursing program and has completed Nursing Fundamentals.

• BLS for Healthcare Providers Training accepted from American Heart Association only.

• Must have good interpersonal & communication skills, positive attitude, flexible, and able to work in a fast paced team environment

• Proficient computer skills

Salary Range

USD $27.48 - USD $27.48 /Hr.
