Nursing Assistant Student Training Program Partnered with 911 Programs!

Summary of Program: The Nursing Assistant Student is a learning position. The student will complete a (9) nine-week program consisting of classroom and clinical training to successfully prepare individuals to achieve licensure as a Nursing Assistant in Rhode Island and regular status employment at South County Health as a Patient Care Technician.

*All classes will be held at the 911 Programs campus in Warwick, RI. If student is chosen for the program, South County Health will direct student to apply to the 911 Programs CNA Training Program and will cover the cost of the tuition. After successful completion of the program and passing of the state Nursing Assistant licensure exam, South County Health will employ students on a Full-Time basis as a Patient Care Technician (CNA) across one of our inpatient floors-Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Orthopedic, or Float Pool.

*Shifts may include day, evening, or overnights. Holiday and weekend rotations are required for a Patient Care Technician position at South County Health.

Schedule of Classes: The program begins on Monday, September 16, 2024.Tuesday's and Thursday's from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM (30 minute lunch break at 12:30 PM). Classes will be held at the 911 Programs campus in Warwick, RI (22 Veterans Memorial Drive).

  • Once student is selected by South County Health for this program, it is their responsibility to complete the application process on the 911 Programs website.

*In order to be eligible for tuition payment, you need to wait to apply until South County Health offers the position to you and directs you through the appropriate process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Ability to understand and perform instructions and procedures

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, and ability to work as a team member with close attention to organizational skills

  • Flexible schedule

  • Ability to work weekends and holidays

  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts
