Job Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for the collection of data related to patient status. Performance of basic nursing procedures. On-going collection and documentation of patient data. Assistance with treatments and procedures. Assistance with maintenance of patient care equipment.

Accountabilities

PRN

• Ensures patient safety. Utilizes the use of side rails, nurse call light, etc. as appropriate. Keeps patient area neat and uncluttered.

• 20%

• Provides comfort measures and diversional activities as directed by Registered Nurse.

• 20%

• Orients patient to environment, place, person and date.

• 15%

• Reports unusual occurrences, problems and/or changes to assigned Registered Nurse.

• 15%

• Assists with task of meeting patients needs with personal hygiene in collaboration with Registered Nurse.

• 15%

• Maintains patient confidentiality.

• 15%

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• No previous experience

Other Requirements

• SST Statement of Understanding

• Sitter expectation safety guide

• Must be 18 years or older

• Accountable to RN assigned to patient
