Nursing Assistant, Med Surg (Will Train/Trainee)

1. Participates in the nursing process during delivery of patient care.

2.Assists in providing nursing care to patients and collects data for assessment of physical, psychological, and social dimensions under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

3.Participates in implementing a formal plan of care for the patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

4.Participates in at least four unit staff meetings per year, attends mandatory programs.

5.Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.

6.Assesses personal and learning development needs. Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served.

7.Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the hospital in a manner that will best market the services provided.

8.Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.

9.Performs other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor.

Additional NURSING ASSISTANT II PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems).

2.Assists in orientation of other personnel to the unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

Will Train to Nursing Assistant -

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English

• Obtain BLS Certification upon completion of the Will Train program

• Completion of Cape Cod Hospital NAII training program

• At the end of training program, successful passage of the Cape Cod Hospital written competency exam for NAII

• Upon completion of the Cape Cod Hospital NAII Training program, incumbent will transfer into the NAII Grade S7 position

Nursing Assistant Trainee -

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English

• Obtain BLS Certification upon the completion of the Apprenticeship Program

• Upon completion of the Nursing Assistant Registered Apprenticeship Program, incumbent will transfer into the NAII Grade S7 position

• The Nursing Assistant Registered Apprenticeship Program:

1.Includes classroom curriculum with an accredited Nursing Assistant Program

2.Includes on-the-job training

3.Must successfully complete Program within 6 months of hire into Trainee position
