Good Samaritan Society- St. Martin Village located in the beautiful Black Hills Hidden Valley west of Rapid City, is now seeking high quality, caring, and compassionate individuals looking to begin a career in healthcare.

No previous experience necessary. Must be at least 18 years of age. If selected for this great career-building opportunity, we'll invest in you by providing paid classroom and clinical training, allowing you to take the state certification exam and become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

As a CNA with Good Samaritan Society, you will be providing loving care for the daily needs of elderly Residents in a long term care setting. Starting wage is $10.65 per hour and will increase to $13.00 per hour once certified. Online class hours will be 8:00 am

  • 4:30 pm and clinical hours will be 6:00 am

  • 2:30 pm (Mon- Fri). Available CNA shifts include 6 am

Job Summary

The role of a Nursing Assistant (Non-Certified) is demanding, but it's likely one of the most rewarding jobs you'll ever have. What you'll do: You'll help with the daily care needs of senior residents.

A typical day can include helping residents to meals and faith services, responding to resident call lights, and helping keep resident areas pleasant and orderly, among other duties. Some residents just want a listening ear, and you'll be that, too.

Qualifications

A high school education or higher education is not required to be hired into this job. Prior work experience may not be required to be hired into this job. No certification required.

Ability to perform assigned tasks and meet requirements for in-services, training and meeting attendance; must be able to use the electronic medical record for documentation. Ability to satisfactorily complete a training program approved by the location.

Basic ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities.

The Activities Assistant will provide fun activities to our Residents in Assisted Living as well as support our Wellness Director in planning and promoting various events throughout the campus. The selected individual will be scheduled primarily Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 11:00 am - 4:00 pm totaling 15 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be comfortable planning and leading engaging arts & crafts activities, be comfortable with Microsoft Office in order to assist with calendars and flyers, and have an eye for sprucing up our facility's common areas with seasonal decorations. The selected person will be required to secure a class B drivers' license (necessary to drive our 14-passenger bus). Starting wages range from $11.17 to $12.03 (depending on experience). Job Summary This position provides wellness/recreation assistance such as program planning and implementing, as assigned, in a caring, safe and efficient manner and is responsible to perform the following according to location standards and procedures. Assists in planning programs that are varied and well-balanced to address residents' individual physical, emotional, social, vocational and intellectual needs and interests. Leads or assists with providing resident programs both within and outside of the community. Assists with determining whether residents' needs and interests are being met through program involvement. Encourages and assists residents with transportation to activities of choice. Interacts with residents and maintains resident-centered conversations. Review calendar of events and notifies residents of calendar availability and scheduled programs. Qualifications Prior work experience in healthcare is preferred to be hired for this job. Completion of an activity training program or ability to complete such program approved by the location is preferred. Ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities; ability and desire to be creative in adapting programs and supplies to meet individual resident needs.
