Job Summary:

Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of an RN. Assists patients in performing tasks involving direct or indirect patient care, treatment and maintenance of the nursing unit.

Education/Certifications:

Minimum Education:

High School graduate or equivalent.

Required Licensure / Certifications:

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) in State of Washington

Professional Requirements

• Maintain regulatory requirements.

• Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.

• Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.

• Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assists in the preparation for admission of residents.

• Provides morning care and afternoon care, which may include bed bath, shower or whirlpool, oral hygiene, combing hair, back care, dressing residents, changing bed linen, cleaning over bed table and bedside stand, straightening room and other general care as necessary throughout the day.

• Provides evening care which includes hands/face washing as needed, oral hygiene, back rubs, peri-care, bathing, freshening linen, cleaning over bed tables, straightening room and other general care as needed.

• Notifies appropriate licensed staff when resident complains of pain, has a change in skin or condition.

• Provides postmortem care and assists in transporting bodies to the morgue.

• Assists LPN/LVN in treatment procedures.

• Provides general NA-C care, such as positioning residents, lifting and turning residents, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in use of bedpan or commode, bathing, oral care, nail care, and ambulating the residents.

Compensation/How We Care For You:

Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range ($21.85- $25.74 /hour) dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation increment increases annually.
