The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) is comprised of more than 800 dedicated staff who strives to fulfill WDVA's mission of "Serving Those Who Served." To achieve this mission, WDVA provides critical services to veterans and their families, both in the community and among four veterans' homes within the State of Washington. WDVA is a national leader in the quality of and advocacy for veterans claims submitted to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, reaching out to Washington's more than 600,000 veterans.

WDVA operates four veterans' homes in Port Orchard, Orting, Spokane, and Walla Walla providing Medicare and Medicaid nursing care for honorably discharged veterans, to include, in some instances, their spouses, widows or gold star parents.

Some of what you will be doing:
The Nursing Assistant, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, assists or supervises assigned residents with activities of daily living. The Nursing Assistant promotes resident-centered care and ensures that the veterans are treated with dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities:

Assists residents with personal care and daily living activities such as bathing, personal grooming, dressing, and eating.

Responsible for accurately obtaining and recording vital signs and other resident data.

Observes, documents, and reports changes in resident's condition or behavior to the supervisor and keeps licensed staff informed about any changes.

Required Qualifications:

Valid Washington State license to practice as a Nursing Assistant Certified.

Current active status on OBRA. (Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act)

Preferred Qualifications:

Long term care experience.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.

Must comply with health screening requirements by undergoing a tuberculosis skin test.

The starting pay for this position is $15.50 per hour. Our technicians spend their workdays on the go, working independently in the field using their company provided vehicle. You will utilize our state of the art ticket and claims management systems to ensure clear and complete mark-out services for the excavator or property owner at the work site. Your Responsibilities as a Locator: You will be responsible for the correct, safe and efficient locating of underground utilities including: telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water and sewer systems Taking time to thoroughly search for underground utilities in an area, properly marking the location, completing the necessary paperwork and photographing each locate You'll be working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and use a company provided laptop to document and close all tickets. We have a 48-hour turnaround time on all locates, which means we generally work the day after holidays and some weekends, as needed. These are daytime, full-time positions and overtime will be required. Instructor led training will be provided. No prior locating experience is necessary.
