Nursing Assistant - Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg- Full Time Nights

Job Description:

Full time. 12-hour shifts. Every third weekend. Holiday rotation. 36 hours per week. Shift starts at 7 PM.

Assists patients with activities of daily living and provides nursing care to patients considering the special needs of pediatric and geriatric patients when indicated, assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse of the team/and or unit.

JOB DUTIES:

Provides general nursing care (i.e., personal hygiene, routine vital signs, passing and picking up meal trays, positioning patients, lifting and turning patients, providing fresh water, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in the use of bedpan, urinal, or commode, ambulating the patient, pre and post-operative care, application of abdominal binders; performs routine treatment procedures including enemas, application of appliances of heat and cold, sitz baths, and specimen collections).

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School graduation or completion of G.E.D verified.

• Successful completion of an Approved Aide Training Program is preferred.
