GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides prescribed treatments and assists with personal care for infant, toddler, latent, adolescent, and occasional adult patients in the Hospital.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtains and documents in EMR including but not limited to: vital signs, intake and output, calorie counts. Notifies patient's nurse and/or Charge Nurse of any changes in patient's condition. % of Time:

• Assists member of health care team with patient care, perform simple dressings and patient treatments within scope of established competencies.

• Assist patient with activities of daily living, such as feeding, bathing, etc.

• Uses all treatment materials and equipment (e. g. AFOs, splints, braces) properly for patient care needs.

• Successfully completes Hospital and department specific orientation and ongoing mandatory education requirements.

• Lifts, transports patients weighing up to 200 pounds by proper use of mechanical lift equipment, or assists with these activities using safe body mechanics.

• Assists in maintaining efficient flow of unit, including but not limited to: restocking bedside trolleys, checking/maintaining status of portable suctions, ensuring accuracy of patient formulas using formula sheet

• Responds to hospital emergencies as directed by Charge Nurse and/or Nurse Manager/CRN.

• Floats to other units as requested by Charge Nurse/Nurse Manager/CRN.

• Other essential duties may be assigned as necessary to the operation of the department.
