The Nurse Technician assists with patient care throughout nursing areas, and is responsible for the safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation in order to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
Minimum Education: High school diplomaor equivalent required
Requires criticalthinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimalsupervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
Licenses: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Georgiarequired without completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR apost-secondary nursing education program; OR currently enrolled in a School ofNursing with completion of the "Fundamentals of Nursing" curriculum.
Minimum WorkExperience: One (1) yearexperience as a nurse assistant or nurse tech preferred.
