Nurse Tech Picu, PRN Rotating (4311-029)

Performs basic patient care activities and procedures for patients of varying ages under the direct training of a registered nurse.

Required Skills

1.Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.

2.Possesses effective interviewing and counseling techniques.

3.Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.

4.Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

5.Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.

6.Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Nurse Technician.

Required Experience

Work Experience

• Hospital setting preferred.

License/Registration/Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS).

Education and Training

• First year of a two-year nursing program (including Medical/Surgical rotation) and currently enrolled in a nursing program, or

• Completion of the 5th semester of a four-year nursing program and currently enrolled in a nursing program, or

• Certificate of completion from a U.S. or foreign school of nursing with proof of acceptance for the NCLEX-RN exam (NCLEX must be passed within 6-months of hire).
