Job Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Critical Care Technician is responsible for direct patient care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Critical Care Technician will provide care according to policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.

  • Maintains critical care equipment and supplies as directed by unit management.

  • Maintains current knowledge/certification.

  • Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.

  • Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.

  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

  • Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objective.

Qualifications

  • Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent

1 year of relevant experience One or more years of experience as a nursing assistant. Required

CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list

  • UNKNOWN Unknown 180 Days required CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required CRT-Nursing Assistant

  • PROMETRIC Prometric preferred
