You will provide comprehensive nursing care to endoscopy patients, incorporating knowledge of medications, use of equipment and procedures common to endoscopy.
You will assess, plan, evaluate and modify treatment for individual patients.
You will participate with the medical team to interpret and evaluate an individual patient's plan of care, outcomes and effectiveness.

For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience providing comprehensive nursing care to endoscopy patients, incorporating knowledge of medications, use of equipment and procedures common to endoscopy.
Experience overseeing documentation and legibility of patient's clinical records.
Experience providing instruction to professional and paraprofessional staff regarding endoscopic procedures.
Experience administering medications via the appropriate route and recognizing the desired effects and complications of the drugs administered.
Experience providing appropriate preparation and education to patients and significant others for tests, examinations and treatments, especially as pertains to endoscopy.

A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
