Overview
This position is onsite 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
The Nurse Recruiter develops and executes recruitment plans to deliver top talent for Institute vacancies in a cost effective and efficient manner. The Nurse Recruiter focuses on advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, unit clerks and other administrative staff while managing the full life cycle recruitment process. This includes identifying needs, sourcing, interviewing and onboarding for new hires while following state and federal employment laws and Kennedy Krieger policies.
Responsibilities
Partners with hiring managers to identify staffing needs. Develops recruitment plans and strategies for a variety of positions within the Institute.
Identifies and recommends sourcing techniques for each position that includes social media, job boards, university efforts, job fairs/conferences, employee referrals and resume mining. Represents the Institute and networks through events, relationship building with staffing agencies/headhunters, and building pipelines of top talent. Provides regular (daily or weekly) follow up with respective hiring managers and candidates to ensure timeliness of recruitment process.
Provides status updates and metrics to hiring managers. Identifies recruiting/hiring challenges and make recommendations for solutions. Manages full lifecycle recruitment process.
Pre-screens, tests, and interviews top talent and recommends candidates for manager interview. Manages the offer process with the candidate and within Workspace (HRIS system). Schedules and conducts telephone and in-person interviews with viable candidates. Reviews appropriateness of candidates with Managers and refers those candidates to Managers for follow-up interviews.
In conjunction with Managers, selects best qualified/suited candidates to create best fit to avoid and reduce turnover. Encourages nursing employment opportunities within the hospital. Maintains effective working relationships with the Human Resources Talent Acquisition staff to ensure best use of resources.
Maintains tracking database of recruitment efforts. Anticipates advertising needs and develops plans accordingly. Assists with other administrative duties and/or projects as identified and prioritized by the Directors of Nursing.
Attends local and regional job fairs, representing the Institute and the Nursing Department. Attends Institute, local and regional recruitment meetings, coordinating with Human Resources Talent Acquisition team as needed. Maintains visibility and communication within the hospital to network and foster positive relationships to address retention needs of staff.
Develops and disseminates staff retention surveys. Compiles and reports data analysis to management.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
BSN degree preferred.
Must be enrolled in a BSN program within six months of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
Two years of pediatric nursing experience required.
One year of recruitment experience preferred.
Experience with pediatric and/or developmentally disabled population preferred.
