Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (Inpatient Psychiatry) - 0.7 FTE W/Great Benefits!

Hennepin Healthcare has an opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in our Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. This is a part-time (0.7 FTE) position working Monday-Friday days. This is a unique position primarily providing time-off coverage in the department (ie. it is not a set schedule each week, but rather a certain number of shifts to be worked in the year). Potential shifts will be typically be offered at least a month in advance and allow for schedule flexibility.

Though part-time, the position includes a generous full benefits package (with some benefits, such as paid time off, prorated).

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Provide direct Psychiatric care to assigned patients on the Inpatient Unit

• Work collaboratively and in consultation with the medical staff as indicated by the patient's health status and medical condition

• Assess patients and prescribe appropriate medications according to prescribing authority protocol

• Order, conduct, and interpret tests

Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Mental Health Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution

• Current Minnesota license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (or eligibility)

• If APRN, certification in Psychiatry by an agency authorized to certify professional nurses in advanced practice

• Completion of mandatory psychopharmacological coursework

Preferred Qualification:

• Two years of experience as a Psychiatric provider (APRN or PA)
