About the Position:
Incumbent may provide occasional cross coverage at other outlying Clinics that fall under the Fort Meade Army Medical Department Activity Mission.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Independently establish a process to conduct routine sick call, primary care, or occupational health care for staff.
Coordinate the assessment, evaluation, and analysis of Occupation Health needs and customer satisfaction.
Plan and organize work to be accomplished, establish priorities, make assignments, monitor progress in terms of timeliness and accuracy of work reported, and make temporary reassignments of employees to meet workload demands.
Maintain a situation where the recall of medical staff to the site can be accomplished within 4 hours.
Plan, coordinate, and implement quarterly emergency medical care exercises.

This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.

Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Advanced certification (e.g., Advanced Life Support) does not supersede BLS completion.
Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
May require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals).
This position requires the incumbent to be on call 24 hours a day and 7 days a week in case of national emergency, and may be required to stay at work site up to 30 days.
Position falls under the Department of Defense Level (COOP). The incumbent must report for work on time and/or remain on duty during COOP and contingency operations.
Moderate to heavy lifting up to 30 pounds is required.

Basic Requirement for Nurse Practitioner:
Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Education for Advanced Practice Nurse Positions: Graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition,
must be licensed or registered by a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States in the clinical specialty required by the position.
Note: Advanced Practice Nurses may receive certification which will be considered to meet the requirement to be licensed/registered.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Professional Nursing Experience at a GS-13 is defined as: One year of experience which includes performing physical examinations, diagnosing diseases or illness, and developing an occupational health program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
