Provides primary care services to patients presenting to the UH Student Health Center. This includes the management of health problems and the promotion of optimal health in both the General Medicine and the Women's Clinics.

  • Perescribe treatment for illnesses within the Family Nurse Practitioners scope of practice, based on Standing orders and Nurse Practitioner Formulary.

  • Order and interpret diagnostics studies.

  • Determine which problems are within the scope of practice and which require referral to specialists according to mutually accepted guidelines.

  • Communicate, consult and collaborate with other professionals involved in the delivery of total patient care.

  • Perform minor diagnostic and surgical procedures within scope of practice. Fully inform patients of risks and benefits of any procedure.

  • Perform well woman's examination and routine physical examinations.

  • Evaluate, test for and treat sexually transmissible diseases.

  • Educate and counsel patient's regarding contraceptive management.

  • Competence in use of electronic medical records and information system is providing effective documentation of patient care.

  • Participate in quality management and quality improvement activities.

  • Participate in educational and informational programs as requested.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EEO/AA Master's Degree and 3 years experience.

Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

Requires technical certification or licensing directly related to the job, as specified on a job description addendum.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation is currently seeking a Full-Time Wellness Provider who will report to the Sr. Regional Program Manager and have daily reporting to the Medical Director for their outpatient clinics in Northern, California. A Medical Provider contributes to AHF's mission with a friendly and helpful manner to all patients and people seeking testing or medical assistance. The Medical Provider is responsible for projecting and integrating the mission and core values of the organization within and outside the Healthcare Center. Works with nursing staff and the front office to accommodate urgent care/walk-in patients. Ensuring all patients medical history is collected, formulates plan and prognosis based on patient's condition, coordinating patient scheduling, performing physical exams during medical visits, evaluates diagnostic test, prescribing necessary medication or other forms of treatment, and Refers patients to physician or specialist for consultation, encourage clients to continue to seek medical treatment from an AHF Healthcare Center and recommend AHF services to others. This position should provide outstanding service that enriches AHF's reputation. Writes admitting orders as appropriate and gives to patient to take to the emergency room if being admitted. The Medical Provider can help ensure the patient is receiving the highest quality of care. Mid-Level Provider: The Medical Provider will provide clinical assessment for patients that are symptomatic for STIs and order appropriate treatment as needed. Primary responsibilities include: * Assesses and examines Wellness Centers patients; this includes treating the patients in a timely manner, acting as a medical resources, and providing guidance as needed. Provides STD treatment. * Performs targeted physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and according to policy and procedure manual. * Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. * Utilizes electronic medical records system to document patient care. * Prescribes medication for treatment of STD's and Post Exposure Prophylaxis.
