UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital is a 204-bed, not-for-profit community hospital serving the Cedar Valley. Allen Hospital is the busiest hospital in the Cedar Valley. We care for more inpatients, outpatients, emergency patients and cardiac patients than any other hospital in our 10-county service area. United Medical Park and Prairie Parkway offer outpatient care in facilities that are built for your comfort and convenience.

• Full-time, benefit eligible Emergency Medicine opportunity at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital

• Stable group of experienced providers

• Nursing staff with specialty training in providing emergency adult and pediatric care, as well as in trauma and resuscitation

• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

• 0.8 FTE = 9-10 twelve hour shifts per month

• Shifts: 0600 - 1800, 1800 - 0600 and 1200 - 2400

• Staffing Model: 40 hours of physician coverage & 36 hours of APP coverage daily

• 204 bed Hospital with access to all specialties

• 31 Bed ED

• Level 3 Trauma Center

• Average 98 ED visits daily, 36,000 annually

• 2 dedicated trauma rooms

• 5 bed restricted access behavioral health area

• Designated primary stroke center

• Evaluate, interpret and coordinate information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care

• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve

• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment

• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Experience preferred

• Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa

• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice

• Eligible to work in the United States
