The Division of Student Life at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville is seeking applications and nominations for a full-time Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner to perform medical services as a member of a physician-directed health care team specializing in family practice care. The incumbent will work interdependently, independently, and dependently as a member of a health care team. Duties will be carried out with considerable latitude for independent judgment and action in accordance with established standards and ethics of the medical profession, personal clinical qualifications, and the administrative policies and operational procedures of the Student Health Services. Provide functional supervision of assigned nursing staff
Provide outpatient ambulatory care for students
Promote preventive health care.
Perform gynecological examinations
Participate in administrative conferences and staff meetings
Attend continuing medical education seminars
Periodically act as a resource person or lecturer for students, faculty, Campus and community organizations.
Graduate (Master's) of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program;
Licensed registered nurse with an Advanced Practice Nurse Certificate and the designation of having a Certificate of Fitness privileges for prescriptive authority issued by the State of Tennessee;
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Minimum of two years of clinical primary care practice experience within a family practice or ambulatory clinic.
