The Hennepin County Public Health Clinic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner. In this position, you will primarily provide office-based Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) treatment for individuals living with opioid use disorder, working as part of a team with a registered nurse and two community health specialists. You will also provide sexual health care services and HIV prevention services both for patients receiving MOUD and for patients seen through the Red Door Clinic, including HIV screening, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, and family planning.

Location and hours:
This position is located at the Public Health Clinic, 525 Portland Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55415. Currently, working hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position will require working one evening shift when the clinic resumes evening hours on Mondays and Wednesdays until 7:30 p.m. No weekend, overnight or holiday shifts are required.

In this position you will:
Work within our harm reduction team to prescribe MOUD at the Public Health Clinic and at various outreach locations, in collaboration with clinic staff.
Provide MOUD management, conducting initial assessments as well as follow-up evaluations through a harm reduction lens.
Provide HIV prevention and sexual health care services including HIV testing, STI testing and treatment, family planning, PrEP and PEP.
Help our team expand work into new areas, including stimulant use disorder management, HCV treatment, and Rapid ART.
Perform lab work as indicated including gram stains, wet preps, and other labs in CLIA certified on-site lab under direction of a lab technician specialist.
Provide health education, harm reduction counseling, consultation and referrals based on patient needs.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with community service providers familiar with the needs of individuals living with opioid use disorder.
Work with a diverse, interdisciplinary team to deliver health services, develop team goals, performance outcomes, and effective referral coordination.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota and a National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (CNP).
Possession of a valid license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota.
Nice to have:
Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration to prescribe controlled substances or ability to acquire.
Experience:
Providing addiction medicine, specifically with buprenorphine.
Providing sexual health care services including family planning services and sexually transmitted infection testing, treatment, and prevention.
Working with medically underserved populations and diverse populations in race, ethnicity, age, gender, and sexual orientation.
Ability to:
Foster an environment that recognizes and respects cultural, behavioral, and socioeconomic differences.
Exhibit sensitivity to the needs and issues of diverse and disenfranchised individuals.
Work independently and collaborate with colleagues to provide quality care.
Deliver services to patients within a harm reduction model.
