What You Will Do AMITA Health is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Nurse Practitioner for our Behavioral Health Hospital in Hoffman Estates. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with AMITA Health to provide medical services to patients.

Position Highlights: Position is prn/registry with schedule of Weekend days, Holiday availability, and potential to fill any other hours to meet the department needs. Nurse Practitioner with ANCC or AANP certification is required AMITA Behavioral Health Hospital has focused on providing evidence-based behavioral health care for patients and families when they require more intensive treatments.

Our 141-bed facility is the 10th largest behavioral health hospital in the country and offers specialized services for mental health and substance abuse problems. Responsibilities:
Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.

Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital. Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.

Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner. Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules. What You Will Need Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s): BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office. Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office. Preferred Credential(s): Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration. Education: Master's degree of Nursing required.

What You Will Do Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the facility. Perform initial and on-going bio-psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice. Develop a nursing plan of care consistent with the master treatment plan. Participate in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient. Implement nursing plan of care for assigned patients and conducts and/or co-leads group therapy sessions for patients. Evaluate patient's response to interventions and revises nursing plan of care as needed.
