GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP)-PA will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
The Specialty/Invasive NP-PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families.
Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care.
Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience.
Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology.
Emergency or urgent care experience is preferred
10a-8p and 4p-2a times shared between the group with a weekend burden averaging every other weekend
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Certified Nurse Practitioner. Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Must be eligible or have obtained a DEA number for prescriptive authority in Michigan.
BCLS Certification required.
ACLS Certification required in some departments as appropriate.
Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.
Certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field, National Certification Corporation (NCC), National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates, Certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) OR National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant NCCPA.
