Decypher is seeking part time Nurse Practitioner candidates to support the US Air Force, located at Lackland AFB, Texas.

Core Duties:

  • Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose,treat, and counsel patients as indicated).

  • Technically direct and teach other staff, provide evidenced-based educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members.

  • Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.

  • Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling. Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.

  • Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient men counters.

  • Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvem

Required Experience

  • Degree: Master's degree in nursing.

  • Education: Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

  • Certification: Certified in the specialty required by the TO as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example,National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties).

  • Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.

  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse

VIEW JOBS 4/19/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-18T00:00 PURPOSE The Advanced Nurse Practitioner is responsible for conducting psychiatric examinations, prescribing and monitoring of psychotropic medications, and other consumer/patient related services, and completing associated documentation. TASKS * Conduct psychiatric examinations and review collateral information of assigned patients in accordance with TDMHMR and guidelines, and Best Practices * Prescribe psychotropic medications using Center's formulary and Electronic Prescribing System (EPS), to treat psychiatric illness; order labs in accordance with Best Practice guidelines * Comply with Center's EMR requirements as established and modified from time to time * Complete physician's certificates or other documentation for involuntary treatment in accordance with applicable laws and the Mental Health Code * Perform Medicaid Administration Claiming (MAC) Time Study on a quarterly basis, and Participates in the Center's cost containment efforts * Conduct regular reviews (and revisions of as needed) of treatment plans and provides the DSM IV, 5 Axis diagnosis on all assigned patients as required by Program and regulatory protocols, which includes a review of DG1A data/form * Respond proactively with care to patients and families * Evaluate urgent psychiatric patients in a competent and timely manner * Complies with commitment laws 100% of the time * Other duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Current Texas RN Advanced Practice the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners, Texas Department of Public Safety Controlled Substance Registration Certificate (DPS), and U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency Substance Registration Certificate (DEA) * Completion of an accredited Psychiatric Residency Program * Must have working knowledge of the principles of the development, implementation, and documentation of individualized care and treatment * Must have working knowledge of State and Federal laws and professional standards related to psychiatric treatment * Must have ability to evaluate patients, set up and carry out an effective course of treatment utilizing the expertise of other clinical personnel with a minimum of direction * Must have proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications and EMR systems * Must maintain required credentials and mandatory training requirements to ensure compliance with all State regulations and CHCS policies * Must maintain a valid drivers license and automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of the Companys auto insurance carrier if you drive your vehicle during company business * Must be able to meet the physical requirements to complete SAMA and CPR training including lifting up to 12 lbs. and supporting up to 55 lbs.; bending, stooping and getting on and off the floor without assistance. * Must have adequate mobility that requires frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching (vertical and horizontal), using fingers, hands, feet, legs and torso in various care. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to occasionally transfer a consumer.
