Regions has an opportunity available for an experienced Nurse Practioner interested in working in our Palliative Care department. The Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) works in collaboration with physicians and other medical staff to provide Palliative Care services to patients and their families.

The NP-C engages in independent decision-making about health care needs and provides health care services to individuals and their families.

The NP-C performs a comprehensive history, including chart review and information gathered from the family and performs physical and psychological health assessments. The NP-C provides direct patient care as well as consultative services to assure state of the art Palliative Care.

The NP-C balances the workload and resources of the Palliative Care team. The NP is responsible for ensuring efficiency in the day to day activity of the department. This position will mentor, coach and support staff while carrying a patient case load. The NP will participate as an integral member of an interdisciplinary health care team and provide education to other health care professionals in various aspects of patient care.

Requirements include: Masters in Nursing or Public Health. 3-5 years in a clinical setting such as inpatient, hospice/homecare.

Current Minnesota APRN license. NP certification in relevant specialty through the ANCC, AACN or AANP. Approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges. Possesses active DEA Number.

The role of the HBC is to provide services for individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. The clinic is closely aligned with the hospital and facilitates referrals from the emergency department and hospital discharges. The HBCs are also home to mental health specialty clinics including neuromodulation program, perinatal, child/adolescent and geriatric psychiatry programs.
