The Nurse Practitioner will coordinate and provide medical/clinical services including engagement, assessment, differential diagnosis, recovery service planning, medication management, education, and risk assessment and discharge planning. Uses Recovery Coaching to maximize the opportunity to create recovery partnerships and a recovery environment. Participates as a team member by providing leadership to the team that ensures a No Force First recovery environment that supports the Recovery Pathways.
Nurse Practitioner -RI Outpatient

Essential Job Functions
Provides nursing and medical care in compliance with licensing regulations and accreditation standards.
Ensure completion of designated reviews of all new guests brought into facility; assure appropriate documentation of psychiatric services for admissions, treatment and discharge of served at the center.
Identify guest's needs and provides appropriate treatment and referral recommendations, in accordance with agency policy.
Participates as an active member in treatment team meetings, providing direct oversight and recommendations that support and enhance a safe discharge back to the community, that are in alignment with agency policy.
Perform ongoing non emergent medical assessment and intervention within the scope of the psychiatric nurse practitioner practice.
Provide oversight and support of nursing department, working closely with Nurse Manager and onsite nurses monitoring care of psychiatric and medical care within the program.
Review individual client's outpatient medications and establish orders for necessary medications according to symptomology.
Prescribes and administers medication according to agency's medication procedures.
Demonstrates working knowledge of RCW 71.05 as it pertains to agency's policy and "No force First."
Providing oversight as needed in triage decisions in accordance with WAC and facility guidelines.
Consult with providers in community as needed for complicated or high risk referrals prior to admission following agency identified policies and standards.
Assist MHP in providing supervision of floor staff as needed.
Provide oversight and guidance in emergent situations, assuring intervention response is appropriate and consistent with agency's "No force first" policy.
Attend community collaborative meetings with RSA.
Assist in coordinating staffing of PMHNPs for on-call and weekend coverage.
Participates in unit audit by state and local entities, assist in readiness and follow up.
Maintain competency of current technological requirements to include the EHR and programs being utilized within RI and the RRC.
Demonstrate working knowledge of current psychopharmacological interventions as they apply to acute, inpatient populations.
Demonstrate working knowledge of DSM V diagnostics.
Establish protocols and procedures in consultation with medical director and RSA to conform to State and funder compliance requirements.

Education, Licenses and Experience
Valid WA State RN license. Master's degree with appropriate training as an Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner.
Experience working in an acute psychiatric setting and training and experience in addiction preferred.
Current license as an RN and ARNP in the State of Washington required.
Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) authorization to prescribe all necessary medication.
Other credentials as required for credentialing.
Additional Requirements, Certifications and Qualifications
Must have a current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
Complete a seven hour AIDS training program consistent with curriculum based on WAC 246-12-270 within sixty (60) days from hire date, or present transcripts of prior comparable training.
Completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training
Completion of Aids Training Certification
May be required to pass pre-placement physical
Must have TB test clearance
Will be required to pass the Washington State Patrol and Company Background Check
