Position Summary

Provide high quality patient care and education to a diverse University community in accordance with established standards and medical ethics, policies and procedures of the University Health Center. Oversee adherence to patients' rights and responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's degree in Nursing and NYS Nurse Practitioner license in appropriate specialty with prescription privileges or completion of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program and a New York State Physician Assistant license. Required Experience:4 years' relevant experience in primary care setting including 2 years as Nurse Practitioner or an equivalent combination or 4 years' relevant experience in a primary care setting as a Physician Assistant Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.

Highly capable of documenting and ordering in electric medical records Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Must have CPR certification. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Willingness and ability to meet demanding and flexible work schedule.

Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion and care coordination for patients and families. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant demonstrates an advanced level of medical/nursing clinical knowledge, communication and interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism and systems-based practice.
