FTE 1 Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours 80 Work Shift Day: 8 hours Job Description The Physician Business Development Specialist supports the Chief Medical Officer in developing relationships with community physicians and providers and serves as a liaison and resource for ECH physicians and the hospital. The Specialist facilitates relationships between the referring physicians in ECH's primary and secondary markets with El Camino Hospital and its medical staff. Additionally, the Specialist maximizes direct sales and marketing tactics to cultivate new business opportunities with community physicians and providers. This role promotes ECH physicians to potential referring physicians in order to continue to penetrate the market through our facility and new programs, increases awareness of ECH resources, builds new relationships between El Camino Hospital and physicians in the community, assists with strategic alliances and mergers and implements tactics to meet volume/profitability goals. This individual develops and maintains a physician contact data base and uses initiative and independent judgment to efficiently solve short term problems/challenges that physicians may encounter using the hospital facilities. Additionally, this position administratively manages the IPECH Board meeting schedule, minutes and correspondence. This position also leads the Physician recruitment processes and manages all efforts related to Physician Guarantee recruitment and contracts by working directly with ECH Leadership, Legal Counsel, Compliance, the Medical Staff, Finance, Consultants and external recruitment agencies. Specific Roles and Responsibilities: Physician Relations: Visit physician offices, meet and conduct meaningful communication activities with physicians and physician office staff. Manage Physician Recruitment Program: Manage both Income Guarantee and Non-Guarantee recruitment needs and the Physician Income Guarantee Process. Onboard Physicians In collaboration with the Medical Staff Office, onboard and orient new physicians to El Camino Hospital. Develop Programs: Research hospital and community needs; collaborate with hospital leadership to research, evaluate, and identity, business opportunities. Business Development: Participate in Smart Growth, Physician Volume and Program Volume development and monitoring. Practice Management, Events and Programs: Inform, educate and guide Physicians on successful practice management and marketing practices. Manage and facilitate the ECH Physician Education Program; plan and coordinate assigned Physician related events. Community Connect: Act as liaison to physician offices, respond to inquiries and participate in the execution of Community Connect contracts with physician offices. IPECH Administration: Schedule Board Meetings; distribute agendas, documents, minutes and correspondence. Track related finances and assist with other administrative functions required to support IPECH. Collect and Manage Data: Track and trend physician activity by developing and maintaining a physician contact tracking tool and provide regular reports to senior management to guide physician business development. Service Line Support: Maintain a close relationship with the various service lines and assist the service line leaders where physician relationships are critical to service line success. Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public health, nursing, communications marketing or public relations. 2. Five years' experience in physician relations and/or healthcare administration 3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills including ability to build relationships, conduct presentations, teambuilding, conflict resolution, and ability to influence decision - making.
