Responsible for provision of care, health education and promotion and disease prevention for patients.# ##Care is delivered based upon established protocols.

Duties will involve initial evaluation with a focus on medical history, physical assessment, education, disease management, ongoing monitoring and early interventions.# Provides primary care and patient education and prescribes patient care intervention to adults and families.# Additional duties include, but are not limited to, telephone consultations with Primary Care Physicians, routine assessment of patient health status, medication adjustments.

Facilitates continuity of care delivery by serving as a practitioner, manager, consultant/leader, and change agent. Requires independent action, creativity, initiative, critical thinking, collaboration, interpersonal communication skills, and public relation skills. Position also requires a high degree of visibility, confidentiality, and flexibility.

Supervisory/management ability necessary to provide organization and direction to patient care delivery. Works as liaison between#patients, families, nurses, physicians, administration and other health care services and community service providers.


MSN required

The program provides medically monitored residential services for the purpose of providing psychiatric stabilization and substance detoxification services on a short-term basis. River Edge is in search of a full-time psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical services in our Adult and Child & Adolescent Units. CNS or PMHNP Credentials preferred but not required. Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with some on-call weekends and holidays. Duties and Responsibilities: * Must be willing to see children/adolescents ages 5 & up and Adults * Administers or orders diagnostic tests, and laboratory tests. * Instructs and counsels clients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance. * Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal. * Makes tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of clients. * Obtains compiles and records client medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of examination. * Prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval. * Develops comprehensive plans of care. * Examines clients to obtain information about medical and/or psychiatric condition. * Administers or orders diagnostic tests, and laboratory tests. * Visits and observes clients on rounds, updating charts, ordering therapy, and reporting back to physician.
