Portland, Oregon - Seeking an excellent Hematology Oncology nurse practitioner. Full-time position.

New clinician will work in tandem with a nationally recognized Hematologist in both hospital and clinic settings.

We are a nationally recognized leader in pediatric cancer, bleeding and clotting disorders, treatment and bone marrow transplant.Each doctor in our center has focused expertise in different areas of our specialty, so children receive highly individualized care from true experts. Doernbecher cancer experts partner with researchers at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute to provide the newest and most advanced treatments in the effort to make childhood cancer a thing of the past. We are the only pediatric program in Oregon to conduct phase I clinical trials, which gives some children access to the newest treatments, because our physicians are national leaders in the search for new therapies for children's cancers. Our center is an active member of the Childrens Oncology Group (COG), an international research organization affiliated with the National Cancer Institute, devoted to creating new treatments and cures for cancers that affect children and adolescents. Our doctors have the expertise to help design these treatments and measure their results. We are also the only Oregon member of the National Therapeutic Advances in Childhood Leukemia & Lymphoma (TACL) consortium and  the Pacific Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium (PNOC). TACL is comprised of a group of childrens hospitals and universities that work closely together to rapidly develop and carry out clinical trials. TACL develops clinical trials of new therapies and novel therapy combinations in recurrent childhood leukemia and lymphoma. PNOC is a network of 15 childrens hospitals that conduct clinical trials of new therapies for children with brain tumors. Our goal is to improve patient outcomes by turning the latest findings in cancer biology into  treatments. Learn more about family centered care at OHSU Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range * FTE: 1.0, Full Time * Schedule: Monday Friday, between 7:00am and 7:00pm * Salary Range: Commensurate with experience * Location: Portland, OR (Marquam Hill) * Job Type: Unclassified Functions/Duties of PositionThis position provides clinical and operative leadership to the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic & Infusion Center for Doernbecher Childrens hospital. S/he plans for and develops the clinical programming of the practice including assuring optimal quality of care and the continuity for patients and their families. S/he is responsible for guiding/overseeing day-to-day clinical operations including: all human resource functions of recruitment, training, ongoing development, and clinical compliance of nurses, medical assistants, and patient access service staff; adherence to 7-days a week effective delivery of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative and clinical policies, procedures, and standard work; partnering with the Hematology/Oncology practice Medical Director, Doernbecher Ambulatory Director, and other medical providers and disciplines to assure quality patient/family centered care; developing and monitoring variances to the practice financial budget; responsibility for the facility in tandem with OHSU Facilities as well as oversight of the refrigeration and freezer temperature monitoring systems and the protection of the supplies within; and delivering the highest level of quality service to our patients and their families, ensuring their needs are met in a warm, timely and professional manner.Job Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  * BSN degree * Oregon RN License * Current BLS * Master's Degree in place or in progress in a health care and/or business field * Five or more years of relevant clinical experience * Demonstrated management and leadership experience with increasing responsibility * Strong analytic skills; competent with excel and other databases; demonstrated organizational skills; demonstrated problem solving skills; demonstrated communication skills both interpersonal and conflict resolution; demonstrated leadership and planning skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary setting * Able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation including traveling to the main OHSU campus, walking across the main OHSU campus, riding the Tram to the Center for Health & Healing, and sitting at a desk and computer for several hours at a time PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Previous OHSU health care experience * Previous Practice management experience * Previous experience with an oncology and/or bone marrow transplant patient population * Previous experience in managing nursing staff in an oncology infusion center * Experience with Epic electronic record system * Chemotherapy certification * Oncology nurse certification Additional Details   Oregon Health & Science University values a diverse and culturally competent workforce.
