  • Assists with identifying and evaluating occupational exposures, as well as hazardous conditions and recommends controls to eliminate and/or minimize employee health risks, especially related to research and other University areas as recommended from Research and Environmental Safety, and Insurance and Risk Management. May work with other University areas on occupational health impacts. Coordinates with the Emory Occupational Health program as directed.

  • Develops and presents training and educational programs related to occupational health with a focus on, but not limited to research.

  • Prepares technical reports and metrics for research related occupational health and safety issues. Reviews IBC, IACUC and IRB protocols when requested to provide occupational health impact and make appropriate recommendations including PPE and vaccinations.

  • Provides reviews of research proposals involving the use of infectious material, biological materials, chemical hazards, radiological hazards and other environmental hazards as referred by the committees including IACUC, IBC, IRB, LSC and RPC to recommend appropriate health and safety controls, containment, and compliance with NIH, CDC, USDA, and other federal, state, local and University requirements including input on potential occupational health impacts. Recommends appropriate PPE and other protective measures.

  • Responsible for Exposure Control Plan, Respiratory Protection Program, and conducts risk assessments related to research and tangential areas. Provides prevention recommendations and corrective action recommendations.

  • Serves as program administrator for the Research Occupational Health Program (inclusive of the MMPVAE program). Responsible for day to day operation of the program including review of risk assessments and health history; conducts initial health assessment; Tuberculosis screenings; vaccinations and review of vaccinations; allergy management, respiratory medical clearance and fit testing, and coordination with the contracted occupational health medical services provider. Works with Research Solutions to manage the operation of an online data management system, including providing notices to participants.

  • Supports and assists with efforts to ensure compliance with federal, local, state, and GSU policies, procedures, and regulations associated with research and related areas. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Master's degree and license should be as Nurse Practitioner.
