Nurse Practitioner - General Surgery

Tanner Health System is recruiting a PRN Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant to work one weekend per month with the Carrollton Surgical Group practice.

Structure of position:

• Schedule:

• Saturday & Sunday, 7:00am - until last inpatient rounded on

• Rotate between Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton & Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica

• Support provided by on call general surgeon

• Tanner utilizes EPIC EMR systemwide

Education

Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program

Experience

Six months of related experience preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Georgia Registered Nurse License

• Georgia Nurse Practitioner License

• Physician's Assistant

• Healthcare Provider (CPR)

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events.

• ACLS recommended.

• Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.e. ACLS, PALS)

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Georgia

• Graduate of a recognized program for Nurse Practitioner training (MSN) or Physician Assistant program.

• Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians

• Must maintain high degree of confidentiality.

• Must meet credentialing criteria.

• Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician.

• Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards.

• Prior experience in a like specialty required.
