Belmont Northeast, located in northeast Philadelphia, is about 15 miles away from the main Belmont Behavioral Hospital campus. Belmont Northeast is a community-based program that provides a range of services to adults with mental health needs.

We are currently seeking a Full time, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, at our Belmont Northeast location.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a member of the medical staff under the direct supervision of a physician with expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individual's mental health problems. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is an expert clinician who delivers direct care, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of mental health problems. This position will work in our Belmont Northeast location, outpatient setting which includes a general outpatient program, substance use disorders program, older adult program, intensive outpatient program (IOP), and acute partial hospitalization program.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner must be able to function independently with physician oversight, to provide long-term psychiatric care to our patients. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner performs position specific job functions within professional nursing standards. Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines and protocols within appropriate time frames. This position requires providing service to all age groups from adults to older adults in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

This position requires:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with appropriate Nursing Practitioner's credentials.

  • A minimum of three years experience as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner preferred, but in the absence of this experience, must be able to demonstrate ability to learn concepts of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, environment and client care and develop these skills within reasonable time frame via training and orientation program.

  • 2-4 years experience in behavioral health required.

  • Basic behavior management.

  • Current license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania required.

  • Current license for prescriptive authority in the State of Pennsylvania required.

  • CPR certification required.

VIEW JOBS 10/11/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-09T00:00 Position Summary: The Nurse Practitioner works as a provider integrating collaboratively within the addictions services programs as part of the medical team providing Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and other forms of MAT. The CRNP is responsible for providing comprehensive addictions services on a behavioral health care setting that may include some primary care/infectious disease services. The CRNP will demonstrate clinical knowledge of addiction services in a manner consistent with the philosophy, mission, and vision of Merakey. The CRNP will be responsible for MAT inductions, physical exams, medication checks, maintaining accurate and current patient records and scheduling and administering follow-up appointments for patients as required. The CRNP will adhere to requirements set forth by the organization's credentialing process and within scope of professional licensure requirements and mandate. The CRNP will provide care within his/her scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, institutional policy and practice agreements. General Responsibilities: * Perform patient screenings/history and physical examinations, medication inductions, and check-ups * Diagnose and treat addictive disease and co-morbidities * Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities * Order, administer, and analyze the appropriate diagnostic laboratory tests * Update patient records and check records for accuracy at each appointment * Recommend follow-up appointments and further treatment options * Deliver quality care while maintaining all company metrics pertaining to productivity * Communicate and collaborate effectively with physicians, other health professionals and health related agencies * Facilitates referrals to appropriate community health facilities, agencies and resources * Serve as the resource for patients in need of ongoing care information and as an advocate for patients and families in navigating the health care system. * Facilitate consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team. * Adhere to all Merakey, county, state and federal policies and regulations. * Observe Merakey's policy on prescription renewals, telephone and electronic scripts * Comply with Merakey's ethics and code of conduct, as well as the ethics and code of conduct for CRNP licensing, regulations, and standards Schedule: M - F 8-4 * CRNP Certification, Primary Care or other * Experience with addiction treatment preferred * Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania * Valid Child Abuse, State Criminal and FBI fingerprint clearances * Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Basic Life Support Certification Merakey Philadelphia PA
