Belmont Northeast, located in northeast Philadelphia, is about 15 miles away from the main Belmont Behavioral Hospital campus. Belmont Northeast is a community-based program that provides a range of services to adults with mental health needs.
We are currently seeking a Full time, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, at our Belmont Northeast location.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a member of the medical staff under the direct supervision of a physician with expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individual's mental health problems. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is an expert clinician who delivers direct care, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of mental health problems. This position will work in our Belmont Northeast location, outpatient setting which includes a general outpatient program, substance use disorders program, older adult program, intensive outpatient program (IOP), and acute partial hospitalization program.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner must be able to function independently with physician oversight, to provide long-term psychiatric care to our patients. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner performs position specific job functions within professional nursing standards. Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines and protocols within appropriate time frames. This position requires providing service to all age groups from adults to older adults in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
This position requires:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with appropriate Nursing Practitioner's credentials.
A minimum of three years experience as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner preferred, but in the absence of this experience, must be able to demonstrate ability to learn concepts of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, environment and client care and develop these skills within reasonable time frame via training and orientation program.
2-4 years experience in behavioral health required.
Basic behavior management.
Current license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania required.
Current license for prescriptive authority in the State of Pennsylvania required.
CPR certification required.
