Advanced Practitioner in the MICU & SD The Advanced Practitioner in the Medical ICU & Step Down will join the Department of Pulmonary in a team of established advanced practitioners who cover the Medical ICU and Medical Step Down units.

The advanced practitioner will also provide as a consult service for stepdown admissions in the emergency department. The Advanced Practitioners use their extensive knowledge to provide direct care for the complex critically ill patients requiring multiple technologies and advanced life support. Advanced Practitioners will practice in a collaborative environment with an intensivist, attending physicians, and other highly skilled members of the healthcare team.

Advanced practitioners are provided with ongoing medical education, procedural training and opportunity for growth within the Department of Pulmonary. Shift: Days with rotation to nights, weekends and holidays - 13 hour shifts, Per Diem We offer an extensive orientation period for new Physician Assistant or new to critical care. Advanced Practitioner Requirements: Nurse Practitioners (APRN) positions require National certification in Advanced Practice, MSN, and current CT Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (APRN) certification.

Physician Assistants (PA) positions require current CT Physician Assistants (PA) License and Board certification or eligible.

All disciplines require the demonstrated ability to positively interact with medical and nursing staff. Critical Care experience preferred but not required.
