Providing psychotherapy and medical evaluation and management to a range of clients experiencing behavioral, mental and substance abuse disorders under the supervision of consulting psychiatrist(s). The position also provides evaluation, treatment planning services for clients in both in-patient and outpatient settings.# Conducts therapy, medication assessments and crisis response to new and existing clients. Develops individual treatment plans based upon assessment data and provides therapeutic interventions as necessary including the provision of on-going medication management services. Provides consultation and health education to staff, caregivers and clients as it is relative to the treatment and medication needs of patients. Maintains documentation of services including treatment plans, progress notes, treatment plans and other required information in compliance with agency and third party compliance standards. Receives medical supervision from psychiatrist(s) consistent with the South Carolina Advance Nurse Practice Act in the provision of nurse practitioner services. Completes other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor that are consistent with the responsibilities of the position.# EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: Professional Licensure in South Carolina as a Psychiatric/Mental Health or Family Nurse practitioner with a minimum of two years# experience working with persons who have mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities and or substance abuse disorders or a combination of licensure, education and experience demonstrating ability to effectively perform essential job functions. Knowledge Extensive knowledge of the etiology of mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders and their treatment by a variety of appropriate therapeutic interventions including psychopharmacology; nursing practice and medical evaluation, physical diseases and their treatment; community resources and networking techniques; and of psychiatric and medical emergency stabilization. Preferred Qualifications include: Nurse Practitioner with Psychiatric Nursing emphasis or FNP with mental health experience.
